Web dynpro java deployement in NW EP 7.3

Hi All,

I developed an application in NWDS 7.3,  when trying deploy, it is not asking SDM password.

I gave the Server details in -- Windows - preferences -- As Java  - (host , sys no, default )

And giving error:

Could not retrieve deployment system configuration for EPJ. Please check if the system is running. [ERROR: 7/4/12 1:22 PM /userOut/daView_category (eclipse.UserOutLocation) Thread[Worker-3,5,main]]

Also in .log menu tab

Unable to connect to <hostname>:50313 - <hostname>

It will not ask SDM password ? where we need to give?  In NW 7.0 Portal, in the system info, there are information like <host name>, < SDM Port> , Sys No etc. where we will locate in NW 7.3?

Thanks,

surya

starting with 7.3, it will no longer ask for SDM password. you will need to deploy your apps with your own user id and password..To configure the system

Go to windows -> prefernce-> As java

Make sure you provide the correct details for hostname, and instance number.

For yur case. looks like the instance number is wrong <hostname>:50313

Also to resolve the host name, you should make an entry in the host file..

Hi Sandeep,

It is not asking any user id & pwd.

I am giving IP address, so I am not written entry in host file.   03 is the instance number, 50313 may be OK .

Thanks,

Surya

you are not connected to sap, how can it ask for uid&pwd?

put the hostname and ip in your host file

Added the host file entry. Still giving this error without asking userid and pwd

Could not retrieve deployment system configuration for EPJ. Please check if the system is running. [ERROR: 7/4/12 2:34 PM /userOut/daView_category (eclipse.UserOutLocation) Thread[Worker-16,5,main]]

have you restarted your nwds?

make sure the version of your nwds matches the server version.
