Negative budgets in FM-BCS

Hi:

There is an option in FMCIA to mark commitment item for negative budget. I am trying to figure out what really negative budget is. I post a budget against FC/CI for an amount 1000 $. When it comes to consume it, we can consume it as per the AVC tolerance profile setting. I can not consume budget exceeding 1000$ if i have specified 100 % error message in tolerance profile, then how come the question of negative budget arise . Please guide me.

Hi Atif,

This setting has no meaning if you work with BCS. With BCS negative budget is allowed by default (see note 983853). This setting was relevant for former budgeting. Its funcitonal meaning is questionable, but I guess in some projects there is a demand to allow negative budget.
