Mass change of Business partner Type (BPKIND)

Former Member

Hi Guru's

On my current project I need to mass update the business partner type.

What do you think is the best, quickest and easiest way to do that?

I first thought on a recording in LSMW but then 50% falls out.

Then I thought on a BAPI or IDOC in LSMW. Does anyone of you have used this before? What works best?

Kind regards

Raymond Groener

Hi,

Did you try with Tcode: MASS.

In that u give the BP object type, then execute.

select the General date 1and execute.

Give the BP from and to. F8.

Here you give the field name which you want to change.

i hope this will help you.

regards,

Nags

Hi Raymond,

A better approach for updating the Business partner type would be to use the strandard transaction code MASS.

Through this transaction, you can update BP type without using any BAPI or LSMW.

Please refer to the following steps-

Step-1- Go to the t.code MASS and select object type as BUS1006.Then execute.

Step-2-Click on the "Fields" tab and search for the field "BPKIND".Select the field and click on execute.

Step-3-Give the BP range for which you want to update the BP type.Click execute

Step-4- On executing you will find a two section-

(a)One containing New Values

(b) Other containing the list of BPs for which the BP type need to be updated.

Give the updated value of the BP type against the new values column

Step-5-Click on mass change button as highlighted in the screenshot attached.

Step-6-Press Save.

Please note that while performing this process, make sure that the BP that you are updating is not opened in change mode.

Also, if the number of BP to be updated is quite high, then its recommended, to create BP groups and then update them through the above process, so that the system performance is not impacted.

Hope it helps in answering your query.

Thanks,

Amlan
