Role Owner doesn´t recieve any message in the work Inbox for Approving Role

Hi All,

i would like to maintain some roles. I just followed the workflow in Role Maintenance and send a Approval Request to the role owner. In this phase, the role will be in a locked modus until the request has been approved. Now as role owner, i didn´t see any message in the Work inbox for approving this role.  In the Instance Status in Search Request for Role Approval Workflow, i can see my choosed approver but can´t approve it, then no message is displayed in the Work Inbox and the role still be in a locked modus. could someone tell me how to resolve this?

I´m on SP09 and by submitting a access request, i can see the message in the Work Inbox for Approving access request but not for role.

Any Suggestion will be appreciated

Hi Omar,

Please also note that for provisioning the roles must be set to production.

Kindly check that your Role Approval Workflow is working

perfectly and Role Agents are assigned at Stage level.

firstly, thank you for your reply.

So i have a couple of questions.

For provisioning, it s already set to production for access request ! did i have to set it for Role Approval workflow too? or is it a general setting ? ( note that my access request workflow is working)

i configured a MSMP workflow for the process-id "Role Approval Workflow" without custom initiator.

Role owners are created and i can assign approvers to the corresponding Role in "Role Maintenance".

But i still didn´t get any message on the approver Work Inbox.

My Configuration Steps for the Role Approval Workflow:

• Process Global Setting: 

          Notification Event: End_Of_Request

          Template_ID: GRAC_ROLEAPPR_APPROVED

          Recipient_ID: GRAC_CURRENT_APPROVERS

•      Maintain Rules:

          Process Initiator: GRAC_ROLEAPPR_INITIATOR

•     Maintain Agents:

          GRAC_CURRENT_APPROVERS

•     Variables & Templates:

          GRAC_ROLEAPPR_APPROVED

•     Maintain Paths:

          GRAC_DEFAULT_PATH

•     Maint Route Mapping:

          Rule_ID: GRAC_ROLEAPPR_INITIATOR

          Rule Result Value: GRAC_DEFAULT_RESULT

          Path_ID: GRAC_DEFAULT_PATH

Hello Omar,

Please check f you have assigned the BRM role of Role Owner and also the role which is required to approve the request.

SAP_GRAC_ROLE_MGMT_ROLEOWNER

SAP_GRAC_ACCESS_APPROVER

It should resolve your issue.

i verified the roles assigned to my approver "yasmina" and both roles are assigned to this user.

i created a Role Owner and selected them as role approver.

but i didn´t configure a workflow as "Role Approval Workflow" in the MSMP config. i configured just a Access Request workflow...

should you know how to configure it ? i didn t find any document about the config steps for Role Approval Workflow...

Hi Omar,

There is no major difference in configuring role approval workflow.

You can create a custom initiator using BRF+, which can have have a basic criteria like "role type" e.g. single , composite etc.

using this initiator you can go forward and use the various approval agents in the path you choose in stage 5 of MSMP.

i will try to find a document which can help you and mail you on your id.
