Hi Experts, This question uis regarding PPDS Alerts. Actually snp planned orders are converted to PPDS orders. When there is shortfall that is forecast is higher than supply, Supply planners will get the alert. We want the Production planners to be aware of the shortage based on PPDS alerts.Without which when the sales order arrives it may be late to take a call.. Pls suggest the alert to use in such situation in PPDS.
Hi Shuthi,
You can't setup alerts in PP/DS similar to DP and SNP. However, there are different alternatives.
1. Standard reports for instance, product overview (t.code /sapapo/pov1). You can define a layout to display just the receipts and forecast when there is shortfall using "Choose Layout.." and "Filter Products" menu toolbar buttons.
When the production planner executes this report and choose the right layout, he can see the receipts and forecast.
2. Using custom days' supply (DS) type. The standard allows you to define DS type with appropriate categories for receipts, requirements, stock, and forecast (SPRO path: IMG > APO > Supply Chain Planning > PPDS > Order view > Define DS types). Then, define a custom PP/DS alert profile for days' supply based alerts (i.e. below minimum required days' supply). Ensure that your alert profile will have the custom days' supply type (t.code /sapapo/amon1). When the production planner executes alert monitor (either /sapapo/amon1 or /sapapo/amon3) and selects this PP/DS alert profile, the planner can see DS based alerts indicating shortfall situation.
3. You can also check BAdI /SAPAPO/AM_ALERT_PP that allows you to define custom alerts. SAP provided an example code for reference /SAPAPO/CL_EXM_IM_AM_ALERT_PP
Thanks,
Rajesh
