Bobj Universe - BEX Vs Infocube

Hi All,

Product: BO version 3.1 SP 3.

I
would like to know about whether to universe with a BEX query or a Infocube.


I got suggestion that I should always use only BEX query. Is this is
best practice to follow? If this is true then, It implies that we shouldnot use
infocubes for BOBJ reports.

In my current case:
I have a infocube
with 100 objects. as per business requirement I require to show all these 100
objects on my webi report. This infocube is very specific to the business area
and no one others require this cube in future. Any new additions in future to
the inocube will also be added on to the webi report. In this case Why do i need
to create one more Bex query? can't I use create my universe connecting to
infocube? Will it show a signifcant peformance when I go with BEX instead of
Infocube?

Please let me know your expert advice on this.

Hello,

Universe can connect to Infocubes, multiproviders(Cube,DSO, Infoset etc) as well as BEX(can have any source cube, IP and DSO).

Note : Bex query must have external access defined in bex query designer to be accessed from universe.
