Central Contract Distribution using diff contract type

Dear SAP expert,

We are in SRM 7.01 with backend ECC 6.05. We plan to use central contract management scenario. We know that by standard, SAP deliver doc type 'CCTR' for this. However, is it possible for us to create a new doc type (let's say ZCTR) which can use the same scenario?

Hello,

Yes its possible to create custom contract doc types in SRM. But remember to do the following:

• Copy it from CCTR and make your changes for the new doc type.
• Assign this new doc type in Org attributes for Pur Orgs/users (CT_PROC_TY)
• If you are using Service hierarchies, assign the Hierarchy template HIER_SE to this new type
• Remember to create this new doc type in ECC.
• Take care of number ranges for the new doc type - internal ranges in SRM become external in ECC
