Hello!
We are using Solution Manager 7.1 with SP5 with Wily Introscope 8 and Diagnostic Agent 7.3.
Do we need to update the Wily Introscope from version 8 to 9 and the Diagnostic Agent?
What is the procedure/strategy from SAP?
Thank you!
Hi,
Diagnostics agent strtegy is already available
http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/SMSETUP/Diagnostics+Agents
For wily,we are with sp04, wily version 8,
just gone throuth the version 9 release note.It is made for database monitoring and other interesting functionality which available in sp05, so you can go ahead with wily 9, if you have standalone db server to monitor.more refer the sap note Note 1565954 - Introscope 9 Release Notes and also check the sap note 1365123 too.
Thanks,
Jansi

it's always recommended to run latest diagnostic agents version(as it contains latest patches and fixes like 7.30XX).
It's also good if you can install wily introscope enterprise manager 9.x release (latest) but enterprise manager 8.x is also supported...
If you upgrade EM to 9.x and then you can upgrade the introscope agent using solution manager on all SAP managed systems.
if you plan to use introscope enterprise manager 8.0 then it may be better to stick to latest introscope agent 8.x.x.x (like 8.2.4.0).
Hi,
regarding diag agent version, have you checked the answer stated in the above mentioned wiki I given already...
http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/SMSETUP/Diagnostics+Agents
Which agent version should be used?
Please follow.
Thanks,
Jansi
Hello again!
Many thanks!
So it seams that the Diagnostics Agent 7.3 SP2 will be used for Wily Introscope 8 or 9.
I am wondering that there is no current patches for this agent, sine the release date (13.05.2011).
Our problem is that the jstart.exe of Diagnostic Agent on Solution Manager server uses nearly 100 % pr CPU. So the idea was to update the whole Diagnostic Landscape (Wily Introscope, Diagnostic Agent).
Do you have any suggestions?
Hi,
we've exactly the same problem and opened a Customer OSS message: here it is the answer
"As you have LM-SERVICE is on 7.10 SP05 patch 0. In that case: Patch 1 for LM-SERVICE 7.10 SP05 will fix performance problems related to the jstart process. This fix will be delivered this week."
Best regards,
Marco
