Error when opening an RFC connection

Hi all,

We are developing an interface for the communication from ECC->PI->Hydra(SAP).

When we do a connection test in the RFC destination created in PI to connect to Hydra, we get the error stating "Error when opening an RFC connection" "ERROR: SAP gateway connection failed.

Can anyone help us to resolve this error.

Hi,

Check whether the Port & Hostname is valid. Check by opening thru Internet explorer.

Hi. Please try this

open a terminal connection, try to contact  gateway via telnet, using this command: telnet <hostname of you system> 3300

3300 (AKA sapgw00) is the standard port of the gateway service started by an ABAP instance

System number = 00.
