Hi all,
I am installing SAP ERP 6 on a Windows 2008 r2 server. I have Intel Xeon CPUs 64bits. However, as I start "oracle Universal Installer" (ou)i on it, I got a message that says "that oui is valid but for a machine type other than current". I guess is beacuse of the CPU, but I am not completely sure,
Thank you in advanced for your help
Hello Domingo,
You have opened other 2 threads with the same question:

Try to keep your questions only in one space.
Checkin the PAM we can see only X64 machines are supported.

Hi Domingo,
Oracle 10.2 is out of support, you should install the latest version that is 11.2.0.3.
Maybe you have downloaded by mistake a 32bits version of the OUI that cannot run on X64 platform
Regards
Yves
Hi Yves, are toy sure about that? The sapinst don´t let me keep on:
Archive E:/NW70-Kernel/51039652/DATA_UNITS/K_720_U_WINDOWS_X86_64/DBINDEP/SAPCRYPTO.SAR is not a valid SAPCRYPTO.CAR archive for architecture NTAMD64. SOLUTION: Enter the path to a correct archive file
As you see, it wants the SAPCRYPTO for AMD....
Thank you again,
Hi Domingo,
All the Windows installations I made were on Intel CPU and I never had such problem.
SAP labels some packages NTAMD64 because historically AMD was the first to came out with a 64 bits processor (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD_64).
The media must be wrong but for another reason than processor archi.
What Netweaver version are you installing (700, 701, 702...) ?
If you are installing ECC6 without any Ehp you are in NW 700 and you should install a 700 kernel and after upgrade to a 720 kernel.
I'm not sure it is possible to jump directly to 720 with sapinst, thus the media you should use is :
51033508_15 NW 7.0 SR3 UC-Kernel 7.00 Windows Server on x64 64bit
Regards
Yves
Do not worry about CPU...
Ehp5 is running on NW 702 thus the media should be :
51039352_8 BS7i2010 UC-Kernel 7.20 Windows Server on x64 64bit
and not 51039652
I tried this:
Sapinst asks for Path to SAPCRYPTO.SAR:
(I entered the 3 options but didn`t suceed. But I see it asks for a ".SAR" file instead of ".CAR". Could this be the problem? )
Here are the messages:
Option 1
Archive E:/NW70-Kernel/51039652/DATA_UNITS/K_720_U_WINDOWS_IA64/DBINDEP/SAPCRYPTO.SAR is not a valid SAPCRYPTO.CAR archive for architecture NTAMD64. SOLUTION: Enter the path to a correct archive file.
Option 2
Archive E:/NW70-Kernel/51039652/DATA_UNITS/K_720_U_WINDOWS_I386/DBINDEP/SAPCRYPTO.SAR is not a valid SAPCRYPTO.CAR archive for architecture NTAMD64. SOLUTION: Enter the path to a correct archive file.
Option 3
Archive E:/NW70-Kernel/51039652/DATA_UNITS/K_720_U_WINDOWS_X86_64/DBINDEP/SAPCRYPTO.SAR is not a valid SAPCRYPTO.CAR archive for architecture NTAMD64. SOLUTION: Enter the path to a correct archive file.
Thanks again Yves. May be I should take the new Kernel as you said
Hi,
Have you try to download the sapcrypto in SMP?
SAP Software Download Center -> Installation and Upgrade -> Browse our Download Catalog-> SAP CRYPTOGRAPHIC SOFTWARE
Thanks,
Nicholas Chang
You might have miss typed the media ref of the kernel, I cannot find any '51039652' package on SMP.
You should get media 51039352 or try as Nicholas said to directly download crypto package.
You should use X86_64 only
.SAR and .CAR are 2 possible extendions for SAP archives.
