Handling Unit setup

Hi SAP Gurus,

I'd like to gahter information on how to setup a handling unit for specific outbound deliveries. e.g. ZEDI order type

The requirement is to determine deliveries which should be shipped on pallets, and print a barcode logic (GS1-128 type) for each shipments.

So I proposed to have an output message on handling units created for those deliveries.

I'd like to know how am i going to setup this, what is the right key combination for condition record of the output message?

Can I also propose an automatic creation of HU per item category ZEDI?

Hi Jhon,

First thing, have you created HUs in delivery ? If not create it. This can be done manually or automaticlly.

Output condition records need to be created in VV61 - Create, then take the print from VL74 - Output from Handling Units

Hi

Config steps:

1. Configure seperate delivery item category for your delivery type with pack is mandatory.

2.  Delivery type should be activated with Automatic Packing, menu path SPRO--->Logistics Execution --> shipping --> Deliveries --> define delivery types  

3. Define packaging material types Menu Path SPRO--> Logistics  Execution ---> Shipping ---> Packing ----> Define packaging material types.

4.  Define material groups for packaging materials, menu path: SPRO --- Logistics Execution ---Shipping ----- Packing -------- Define material groups for packaging materials.

5.   Define allowed packaging materials, menu path: SPRO ---- Logistics Execution--- Shipping --- Packing ---Define allowed packaging materials. 

Master Data:

1.     1.   In FG Material Master  packaging material group need to added in Basic Data tab

  2.   A Packing Material master required with material type VERP,  in this  Sales / general plant tab, ‘Mat grp pack Materials’ and Packaging mat type need to be maintained

          3.    Packing Instruction for cartons  (T.code: POP1)

      4.  Creation of Packing instruction determination(POF1) for 'SHIP'

   5.  In Delivery creation, once batch is selected for the delivery item press the pack button.  (VL01N)

      5.  Finally press the Automatic packing button, then system generates HUs automatically.
