Hi to all friends,
I am new to PS ,so, could anybody tell elaborately about forecasting dates in WBS and tentative dates, and
How can we transfer the forecasting dates to basic dates.
Thanku.
Hi Srikanth,
You define different dates at every level of the project (project definition, network, activities, and activity elements).
Basic dates are defined manually, and are often binding for lower-level objects.
Forecast dates are a means of storing a specific scheduling scenario for information purposes.
Also, You can maintain constraints for basic and forecast sets of dates.
In Project planning board transaction ( CJ2B), before you enter actual dates ,
you can transfer dates planned previously i.e. basic dates to the set of dates for alternative time
scheduling ( i.e .forecast dates).
You can use following option
In the menu, choose "Edit ->Reconcile dates -> Transfer basic date to forecast".
As suggested earlier, You can use Set of Dates option to plan basic and forecast dates.

Tushar
