Regd Password Expiry prompt via RFC

Hi Experts

As a part of our new development using mobile device, we try to login to SAP through RFC. We were successfully able to do so but when the password of user is expired or set as initial, the change password prompt is not showing up or no check is done. Its allowing the user to login with the old / initial password 

Is it an SAP bug or Is there any fix / note available for this ?

check parameter rfc/reject_expired_passwd.

...and in addition to Martins suggestion make sure, that the user type is not set to 'Service'....
