Developer Studio questions

Former Member

Hi everyone,

When trying to get familiar with sapnetweaver developer studio, i encountered the error NoSuchMethodError.

I found answers on this forum, saying that it is linked with the versions of the WAS and of the Developer studio which both have to have the same level.

I am running dev studio 2.0.3 but I don't know how to see what the version of my WAS is... I saw an answer on the forum talking about "...j2ee/cluster/server0/version.txt file, but I don't have any direct access to the server (I am just a developer). Is there any other way to get this information?

Furthermore, I think that my SNWDS version is too old but it was the one delivered on the CD when we installed SRM. Where can I download the upgrades.

Sorry if my questions are basic and may sound stupid, but i am really new on this subject...

Thanks for any help.

Julien

As you mentioned NWDS 2.0.3 version is old you can download much higher versions like 2.0.10/11 in http://service.sap.com,if you want to download 90days trial version of both WAS and NWDS then http://sdn.sap.com

Hi Julien,

You can get the NWDS from the

https://service.sap.com/swdc

however you will need a service market place log in that has authority to download software. You might need to speak with the administrator if you don't already have one.

Perhaps you might like to explain the error that you are getting in more detail if upgrading your NWDS does not help.

Cheers

Hi,

Please go to the following url.

http://<systemname>:<portnumber>.

where systemname is the workstation name or IP address in which the WAS is available and the port number of the WAS.

Click on system information.

Enter the J2EE engine admin username and password.

In the new screen you should be seeing all the information related to your WAS. To find its version, on the right hand side there will be an entry called software components. it gives a detailed information regarding the version, the service pack etc.

Hope this helps.
