You need to go to the directory

/usr/sap/DCJ/DVEBMGSXX/j2ee/configtool

Set the DISPLAY environment variable.

Start the configtool

./configtool.sh

The visual admin tool must be started from a graphical environment as it is a GUI.

It seems like you start it from a terminal only as states this error message in the provided log :

Caused by: java.lang.InternalError: Can't connect to X11 window server using ':0.0' as the value of the DISPLAY variable.

Or at least you have a problem with your DISPLAY variable.

Regards,

Steve.

Can you set the DISPLAY environment variable.

You need a software like hummingbird or xmanager.

setenv DISPLAY <IP>:0.0

Login as <sid>

Open a terminal in Xmanager

setenv DISPLAY <IP of server>:0.0

cd /usr/sap/DCJ/DVEBMGSXX/j2ee/admin

On the top of the Xmanager screen , what do you see ? something like 192.100.1.21:0.0 or something else.

Set the value to the one shown at the top for the DISPLAY environment variable.

Also once you set DISPLAY , run xclock command and see if a clock is displayed.

Ratnajit

The top of the screen reads as 192.100.1.21 (dcatipl:177) - Xmanager 2.0[:0.0]

while running the xclock command we get the error, Error: Cant open display...

Is there any other GUI based tool open in the Xmanager window?

If so open another new xmanager window.

Set the display to the value (something like 192.100.1.21 (dcatipl:177) - Xmanager 2.0[:1.0] )shown at the top of the screen of xmanager.

setenv DISPLAY 192.100.1.21:1.0

run xclock.

Then if it works , start the visual admin.

Just logout of xmanager

open a new xmanager  session and open a terminal

run the command env and paste the output

run xclock ( do not DISPLAY env variable)

Go to the directory

cd usr/sap/DCJ/JC01/j2ee/admin

and start using

./go

Are you logging in as root and doing a su - dcjadm ??

If yes, then please directly login as user dcjadm in the xmanager session.

Hello,

The configtool is not supposed to be in the JAVA_HOME directory.

It is located in the directory :

/usr/sap/<SID>/<INSTANCE_DIR>/j2ee/configtool

Best regards,

Steve.
