Hi Every one,

Refer to the screen shot attached.

In our lanscape, I have a ECC system which I have created under the node "Communication Component Without Party"  a Business

System.

I have not created the technical system of the external partner in SLD since it is not in our network.Instead I created a Party

in ID.

a.     Do I have to create the Communication Component i.e. Business System, Business Component.

b.     What Details I have to get from the external business partner.

c.     What would be value in the Identifiers tab?

Regards

Rebecca

In addition to Michal's reply, few cents... Remember SOAP is just a message protocol and it uses http as transport protocol.  You don't really need to use business systems or party to connect an external system that requires transport protocols like http.  Since webservice uses http as transport protocol and which is pretty similar to accessing web pages that uses the same transport mechanism, you just need a business component. At the same time your network team might need to configure firewall rules to establish communication between your landscape and external landscape.

Hi Michael and Baskar,

Thanks for the useful information. Do I need to provide any entries in the identiefier tab of the receiver communication

channel in this case.

Regards

Rebecca

No. You don't need.

Hi Rebecca,

if you want to communicate with standard SOAP (typical WS call) and not XI protocol

you can create a normal business component (without party) and that's it.

Hi Michael,

You mean to say that I dont have to use Party node even when I am trying to communication with a system which is outside the network.

Hi,

>>>You mean to say that I dont have to use Party node even when I am trying to communication with a system which is outside the network.

of course - if you're using normal SOAP it does not matter where the server is (internal or external)
