Assigning division to another company

Is it ok to assign a division to a sales organization which belongs to a different company code?

Those 2 companies are on the same server. Please click image below.

1. Is this assignment advisable?

2. Is it more advisable to create a separate division?

3. Will there be problem if the design on the image will be followed?

Hi Anwar,

  You can assign the one division to many sales organization with in same company code or different company code, This is advisable also because you can avoid duplication of data. In inter company sales also normally we use same division under two different company codes.

hi,

you can assign same division to multiple or single sales organisation under same or different comapnay codes. it is always with sales orgs many to many relationships.

Hello,

Will the Material Master records (of D1 Division) in both the Company Code & Sales Orgn Same? This is because as you may be knowing Material can only be created under single Division & if you extend this D1 division to another Sales organizaton & Company Code, you will not be above to change the Basic Data of Materials.

As far as assignment in SAP is concerned, it is possible to assign to Sales Organization belonging of another company  code.

Dear Anwar

It is possible to assign division and distribution channel to sales organizations of different company codes because these are global.

There is no need to create a different division for the same purpose.

The design you have shown is absolutely fine.
