SUP Upgrade 2.1.3 (from 2.1.2)

Hi SUP Community,

We currently have an implementation of SUP 2.1.2

We have deployed standard apps and they are working fine.

SAP Sales Order Notification

SAP Customers and Contacts

SAP Material Availability

SAP ERP Order Status

SAP Enterprise Asset Managerment

as well as a few custom apps

We would like to upgrade to SUP 2.1.3 and wanted to hear from anyone who has a similar SUP landscape and successfully upgraded.

I did find that the technical documentation on help.sap.com specifically mentions that the app works on SUP 2.1.2, but does not mention about later versions.

e.g.:

SALES Order Notification 2.2.0 runs on SUP 2.1.2

We wanted to know is it safe to upgrade, and will our standard SAP Mobile Apps ( which specify in their technical requirements: SUP 2.1.2) continue to function on SUP 2.1.3?

From the post, SUP Developer Centre has been upgraded to 2.1.3 successfully, http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-29162

So it stands to reason that custom apps developed run just fine on the upgraded platform, but is that actually the case?

Looking forward to hear from anyone on their SUP 2.1.3 Upgrade Experience.

I have SUP 2.1.3 and Employee Lookup App works fine.

SAP document says minimum software requirement 2.1.2. It means App is not supported on SUP 2.1.1 but 2.1.2 and later should be OK.

Hi Amit,

Applications built using SUP 2.1.2 should be compatible with 2.1.2 onwards releases hence 2.1.2 application should work with 2.1.3 server.

Hi Amit,

Ideally all the apps are upward compatible and should be compatible with 2.1.3 server. The apps built using SUP2.1.2 client are compatible with 2.1.3 server.

Hi Amit,

We have upgraded the SUP server 2.1.2 to 2.1.3.

Specifically we are upgrading SUP to support more blackberry devices with Blackberry 7.x OS versions which is not supported by SUP 2.1.2.

So my requirement is,

• I need to upgrade the workflow packages along with the server.
• I hope Upgrading SUP server 2.1.3 alone won't support BB7.x devices. (MBO and workflow's belongs to 2.1.2)
• It seems 2.1.3 workspace generates different set of api (Example api.js has the code to identify BB7.x version devices, which is not available in 2.1.2.)
• I cant generate workflow package once again with 2.1.3, because it is huge application, we have done lot of customization in 2.1.2.
• I want to merge 2.1.2 API's with 2.1.3 API's.

Any standard way to do this merging...

Have you done anything similar to my requirement?
