Dear colleagues,
We are planning to perform an installation of ECC EhP 5 which will be mounted on an OS with AIX and DB2 in a High Availability solution.
1. Could you please provide us what is the Installation guide that we should follow to perform this installation?
2. I would appreciate if you can let us know, all the details that we must consider to enable the HA on the SAP, DB and OS level to make it work in conjunction.
Thanks and best regards,
Rod
You can use this SAP standard document
https://websmp103.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000749012010E
You can also check this thread
http://scn.sap.com/thread/1286896
Even though the above thread talks of DB2 9.1 , but for 9.7 also holds good.
Some of the things that would require a planning :
1. SAN file systems and local file systems
2. /etc/hosts file settings
3. <sid>adm and db2<sid> environment setup in both nodes
4. SAP and DB resource groups
5. Cluster resource groups startup and shutdown scripts
6. Adaptation of db2nodes.cfg (Very important ) Check this link http://it.toolbox.com/blogs/database-geek/the-important-of-db2nodescfg-28765
7. Maintain .rhosts file in each cluster node for <sid>adm
A few tips while installation.
Do not use virtual hostname while installation with SAPINST as HACMP does not understand virtual hostname and only knows service IP of a cluster group.
Make sure the scripts for starting/stopping SAP and DB works with failover
Do let me know if you struggle anywhere .
Regards
Ratnajit
