Dear Swathi,

The kernel itself maintains the number of statistics files. The profile parameter stat/max_files is used to control the maximum number of statistic files. Each hour a new file is created and the oldest file is deleted automatically. Make sure you have enough disk space available for all the statistic files. Otherwise the syslog (transaction SM21) shows the following message:

> File: /usr/sap/<server>/<id>/data/stat

Failed to write to file, error 0028

STAD to view the stats.

This  directory is full quite easily

/usr/sap/<server>/

One reason is the trace.

Deactivate RFC trace (not a perfect solution yet)

SM59 --> RFC --> Delete trace (free some space)

SM50 --> Process --> Trace --> Reset (free lots space 13%)

SMGW --> Goto --> Trace --> Gateway --> Reset file

Hi Swati,

Check if /usr/sap/SID is not 100% full. In case DVEBMGS00 or DVEBMGS00/data or DVEBGS00/data/stat are mounted check accordingly for them.

If confused 🙂 please do

df -k /usr/sap/SID* and post the logs here.

Regards.
