Hello ,

Can you'll tell me about maintain service tax categories, why this is to be maintained & if am maintaintaining it how will i come to know about the sub clause number, & what is the t-code for same, menu path is Logistics general>>taxes on goods movement>>India>>service tax>>maintain tax category

Also i have been told to maintain SD service category & i would appreciate if you'll could help me in this regard. pls. do reply ASAP

Dear Arpita

Service tax category is categorization  of services as per service tax rules. You have to report to tax authorities tax payable , paid and credit as per these different categories. Hence to meet statutory requirements you need to maintain same in SAP system.

Please refer to OSS note 779512 , and  contains a list of other SAP notes which mention what are the steps you need to follow to have service tax reporting in your system.
