Multiple SAP application on single HP-UX Host

Hi Friends,

We are having HP-UX based HP hardware server.

Now we are currently running SAP CRM and SAP SRM application on separate host.

These are not being utilized much more. So we want to put both application SAP CRM and SAP SRM on single host. Both application are having Oracle10g database.

Please suggest me is it possible ?

What will be the major challenges if we start both applications on single host.

Hello,

Not a good idea avoid if possible.

Need to keep the transport domains and kernel directories seperate also.

Thanks for your valuable reply.

Now we are planning to create virtualization and then we move both systems.

Now in this case i think there should not be any issue ?

1. You need to ensure that your instance numbers for the both the systems do not conflict .

2. Ensure that you have separate oracle homes for the 2 systems.

3. Check the total memory in the system. Divide the memory for 2 oracle instances and 2 sap applications and set the memory parameters accordingly. Also check the number of workprocesses once the system is up and running and then do a trial and error to figure the optimum number.

Also monitor the systems for a week after installation for workload, SAP memory and buffers, CPU and memory utilization till it is stable.
