Regarding Smartform translation EN-->JP

Hi All,

I have translated a smartform from english language to japanese language using se63.

Its working fine but the problem is while printing the form in Japanese, the font and font size is differing from what it it in English language.

Could you please guide on how this can be maintained for Japanese?

Hi Gaurav,

When you translate Text from 1 languade to other , the Font size may get reduced or increased .

To overcome this ,  declare new pragraph and character formats using SMARTSTYLES and iniside Form attributes , in output options assign that stle  to smartforms .

Now make use of Text  for translating using SE63 .

Hi Gaurav,

You mean increasing Font with Paragraph and Character formats did not increase Font of Japanese characters? This is strange.

Please check if you have use same Paragraph / Character formats used inside Smartform Text nodes.

Also ensure that closing tags </>  are in place for every Paragraph / Character formats which you have created .

Gaurav,

Japanese not same as any European language. Its a double byte character language.

First check if the Japanese Language is installed on your Server or not.

If yes, then there are some specific fonts which one need to use in smartforms for languages like Chinese & Japanese as Arial or other fonts will not give desired output. Moreover, There are settings for Printer as well to support those special characters..

Please check all these with your BASIS person
