PDF attachment in mail receiver gets corrupted

Former Member

Hi.

I have a scenario, where I convert a text document to a pdf document and mailing it as an attachment.

The pdf document is viewable in SXBM_MONI and in the Message Display Tool both viewed as pdf, so I'm convinced that there is nothing wrong with the document itself.

When I receive the mail and open the pdf attachment, the file is corrupted.

Pdf attachment has content type application/pdf;name="file.pdf".

Does anyone have an idea what the receiver mail adapter is doing to my document?

Best regards...

Peter

Hi Peter,

in Messaging system monitor - can you see your message in - display message bytes option ?

can you copy the attachment string to notepad and save it as PDF ? does it work when you open it ?

Hi Michal.

Im not able to see the bytes in MDT, SAP AG.

The text, when pressing the button, is : "Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further"

Quick search for notes regarding this resulted in zero hits.

If Im looking the wrong place, can you give me a quick guide to the right one?

Best Regards...

Hi,

right place, you're not using ICO right ? (you've mentioned checking IE...)

the message should get logged if you're not using ICO there...

Hi again.

I’m not really sure what you mean, when talking about ICO,

but as mentioned earlier, the pdf document is looking fine in the MDT under Detail Display - Message Content. The content is shown as a pdf file, because of the mime type.

As bonus info, I can tell that the mail is generated using protocol XIPAYLOAD (with Mail Package).

MainDocument (application/xml) works fine!

Hi again.

I just switched the mail receiver with a file receiver.

The result pdf file looks fine.

Think this leaves the problem in the receiver mail adapter.
