I've read that ITS / ICM were integrated on the same server with new sap products. What is the difference in their functionality? What kind of services use ICM / ITS..
Are the below conclusions correct:
If I open the page server:port/sap/public/ping : this request goes through ICM.
When I execute a transaction using transaction iview, in my portal i.e. (using System -> Support -> Application Integration --> Test and Configuration tools); that iview does not communicate with ICM ... but directly with ITS ?
Hello Jay,
As long as you are using HTTP or HTTPS then the request will go through ICM. So to answer your question, with Integrated ITS the communications will go through the ICM and ICF before ITS.

Hi,
I was also looking for simple answers and as I understand, every time you connect to the Web AS ABAP using http, https or smtp you will be using ICM.

Then to manage the service you are requesting for example BSP, RFC, webservice, GUI fro HTML, etc the ICF is the one that do the job.

Finally if you just want to use GUI for HTML, the ICF calls one of its services, the ICM.
