Project Coding mask error

Hi,

While I'm going to create a new coding mask, system is throwing an error "Edit screen is "3" too long" Message No. CJ627.

The coding mask what I want "DU/XXXX/0000-XX-XX-XX-XX" which is 24 characters but still I'm not able to understand why system is throwing error.

System only allows me create up to 21 characters, why is it so?

Thanks,

Soubhagya

you cannot have 24 characters, you can have only 20 characters coding mask in 2 or 3 columns.

But we have already have a coding mask of 22 characters and now even system allows me create a coding mask of 21 characters. However in standard system, you can have 24 characters in a coding mask.

I don't know why system behaves in this unusual manner.

Hi Soubhagya,

I doubt its related to OPSK settings.

Hi Soubhagya,

I am able to create the coding mask given by you. "DU/XXXX/0000-XX-XX-XX-XX".

Its because your setting in the "PL" field in OPSK is having "3".

Change it to "2", like its shown below in the image, then you will be able to create.

The number specified in "PL" field in OPSK is the spaces taken in the PrjID column in OPSJ (Project Coding Mask).
