Future co-innovation platform (Data Orchestration Engine in or out)

Hi Guys.

The mobility platform from SAP in 2010 was the Dual SUP + Doe. Since then the SUP is evolving and adding new connectors as the case of OData (gateway).

In recent versions of the SUP Your Messages exchange system was removed, only the connector forthe existing DOE

What is the future of co-innovation Platform, the DOE will be discontinued and SAP will focus only on the Gateway or via JCO? Since the use of DOE involves the use of netweaver, while other models can make a direct connection to the ERP.

I heard that the new CRM mobile not use the DOE.

Hi Erico

In my opinion DOE is a duplicate of SUP in terms of its purpose. It is definitely not needed for new customers. It "was" used in the days of NetWeaver MI which has now fallen to pieces. Yes for the sake of argument one could say existence of DOE protects the existing investment of customers who are on NetWeaver MI. Its high time they get a upgrade path to SUP. Jus wondering how the pundits of architecture would agree having two middlewares that do the same in a landscape.

Atleast for now SAP's focus is SUP, one can understand from a financial perpective if not technical.
