Hi,

We have configured the ADS on our ECC6 environment by using BW JAVA.

For this we have imported the SSL license in both the system.

Now while checking ADS_HTTPS rfc giving us an error

ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED

The SMICM log is as follows:

   (SI_ECONN_REFUSE/10061; I4; ST; <BW IP>:443) [nixxi.cpp2845]

Thr 4652] *** WARNING => Connection request from (17/30/0) to host: <BW HOSTNAMEj>, service: 443 failed (NIECONN_REFUSE

M-T17, U30, 500 <USERID>, rbhanush, 18:13:44, M0, W0, SM59, 2/2 {00000011} [icxxconn.c 2340]

Kindly help.

Hi Raj

One way to check if the port 443 on BW Java is responding is to do a

telnet <BW Java IP > 443 from your ECC host.

After entering a userid / password if you get a response it means you can reach else there is an issue with the connectivity.

Use this note to troubleshoot any ADS issues SAP Note 944221 , it has a step by step process.

Hi Raj,

One question that might give some idea:

Is BW JAVA running on Unix.. If so on port 443 ?  .. The reason I ask that you can't bind 443 on Unix for JAVA systems to <sid>adm of BI JAVA.. You can use a web dispatcher for access via port 443 or else use some kind reverse proxy or use port forwarding rules in case of Linux particularly but it is not straightforward like ABAP systems which use external ICM bind and in case of JAVA the port would never get bound. So please check. may be just wrong hostname/port combination is being used.

If of course this is Windows then it lot more easy.

Hi Raj,

Please go to browser and check if https;//jetbpcd.jw.com:443 is working. I am assuming that 'jetbpcd.jw.com' is the BW hostname.

And to check it please login into the server where your ECC server is running.

Yes at ecc server side url with port 50001 is working but not with 443.

Hi Raj,

50001 is the default https port from SAP. And it seems that this is what BW JAVA is using..in the RFC destination ADS_HTTPS (http type)why are you then using port 443 insterad of 50001. Please try using 50001

Also please remember 443 is the standard IANA port.Whereas as for SAP standard https port is 5xx01 where xx is the instance number.

Yes Ruchit at SM59 we have used port 50001 only ...

But in smicm it showing the port 443

our java url is jetbpcd.jetairways.com:50001

Hello Raj,

SMICM wil work for ABAP systems only i.e ECC in thiscase. BW JAVA will never have ICM hence checking SMICM is useless. You are connecting from ABAP to JAVA so ICM is out of window.Inthe RFCz destination type G give service number as 50001 !!

Check this link:

Hi Ruchit,

We have used 50001 as service number for ADS rfc.

Is there any firewall options needs to check.

Hi Raj,

May be I am thinking in the wrong direction.Has been a while I configured ADS. Anyways let us try.

Which host is 'jetbpcd.jw.com'? also what type of RFC destination is being used. And in the `1st post you have mentioned ICM log

Thr 4652] *** WARNING => Connection request from (17/30/0) to host: <BW HOSTNAMEj>, service: 443 failed (NIECONN_REFUSE

What is this value ?

<BW HOSTNAMEj>,

What is ur ICM_HOST__NAME_FULL parameter. Is it same as

<BW HOSTNAMEj> or is the ECC hostname ?

Regards.

The jetbpcd is BW java url and it's the BW hostname

RFC destination is of type G.

icm/host_name_full=ECC hostname.
