hi,
I am planning to upgrade my 32 bit ides ECC 6.0 to EHP4.
Is it possible to do it without solman?if so, how should i proceed further.
Thanks for your help.
Thanks Ratnajit!!
I just want to practice this upgrade. That is why i wanted to perform it on IDES system.
That means i need to install ECC 6.0 and then i can upgrade it to ECC EHP4.Is it right?
Could you please tell me is there any way to download required upgrade files without solution manager? Can i get the list of files required for upgrade?
Thanks for your help.

Hello Sonali,
No, a solution manager is a must.
You must first register your system in Solution mangaer using Tcode SMSY and then you can
download all the softwared packages in MOPZ.
Please check the guide- "How to install ehp4- a practical guide" which will give you more details on
how to do this.
I hope the abvoe information helps.

Sandhya
Hi Sandhya,
My concern is in automatic downpayment clearing for which I have to have “LOG_MMFI_P2P”, to be activated to use T.Code ME2DP for report. Not able to view the same in SFW5.
Currently we are using ECC6, but not EHP4. How to install EHP4?
I would be highly obliged if you could send the me the path to install the same in IDES, first and then will try the same in production. And, while installing what are the step to be followed, thanks.
Thanking in Advance,
Raghav.
Hi Raghav,
First of all, upgrading an IDES system is not recommended.
If required, you can carry out a standard upgrade of your IDES
installation to a higher release level. However, this is not an IDES
upgrade but 'merely' a repository upgrade (ABAP, Dictionary, GUI...).
The sample data of IDES client 800 remains unchanged. We cannot
guarantee that your IDES scenarios work after the upgrade to the new
release level. Therefore, we recommend that you order the required
release as a new installation.
However, if you require an IDES upgrade, contact SAP: Create a message
under the XX-IDES customer message component. Remote access from SAP to the upgrade machine is a prerequisite. Preprocessing and postprocessing of the system is
carried out by SAP. However, you can perform the actual upgrade.
Now, if you want to upgrade a normal ECC 6.0 system to EHP4, you can use SUM for this upgade.
Please check the following note which elucidates the same:

following update paths:

As per the SAP note Note 799639 - IDES - General Information about the usage of IDES systems
Upgrade
IDES should only be operated as a separate installation. Each new release requires a new installation! We do not recommend to upgrade an existing IDES systems. This is the only way to guarantee the full functionality of a tested demo system!
I would recommend you to install a new 32 bit ECC 6.0 EHP4 system,
You need solution manager key for the installation.

Ratnajit
