Hi,
Can any one tell me how to create a Data Type (or Message Type) in a IDOC scenarios quickly and efficiently.
Please help me in this regard.
Thanks and Regards,
Eren
Hi Eren,
There is no need to create a DT or MT for an IDOC.
Just form imported objects, import the IDOC from the R/3 system.
Then you can create a messge interface and you can tell its message to be the IDOC.
Then you can use this Message interface in your Interface mapping.
You can directly use your IDOC in message mapping.

Hi Eren,
For your scenario, your source message interface will have ORDERS05 IDOC.
For your target, you will have to decide that do you need to create the target structure.. so if you need to create the target structure, then create a data type for your target - then create a messge type for it - then a message interfavce for it. Then your target message interface will have your target data type.
In your message mapping you will have IDOC in source and your target message type in target. Hope this solves your query.
Thanks,

Thanks for you quick answer.
The "Source Interface" and "Target Interface" in the "Interface Mapping" have now the value "ORDERS.ORDERS05" ist that okay?

Hi Eren,
See both the source and target can contain the IDOC....usually it is not the case....it depends on your scenario.......if your scenario is IDOC-file then source message will have IDOC and you will need to create the data type for your target message.......if yur scenario is FILE-IDOC then you will create yur source message data type and your target message will have IDOC.
Thanks,

Dear Eren
integration repository --> software component double click --> select radio button which says import of RFC and IDOC interfaces from SAP systems Permitted. --> provide the connection data for import from SAP System --> then under imported objects, you have IDoc --> right click and say import of sap objects --> then give your server details and import the IDoc you want.
and use it in mapping

Hi,
You dont need to create a new data type or msg type. Just use the imported IDOC directly in Message mapping.

you dont need to create a DT or MT in case of an Idoc. All you need is to import the idoc and then use the same.
Also note that in this case your message interface would be the idoc itself. no need to create that one too.
