archive and delete jobs not working

Hi,

I defined the retention period ( 5 min ) and also the interfaces for archiving in SXMB_ADM

1. Then i schedule the delete jobs( freq 5 min )..

   but when i go to job overview then i see only 2 jobs ( one delete and another history delete)and are always in released state they never get complete

   whereas if i execute the RSXMB_DELETE_MESSAGES manually it deletes the messages properly from moni

2. Also I scheduled the archive jobs ( freq 5 min)

there archive jobs complete every 5 min but i dont see the message going away from moni

deletion is working now...

archiving is not working...i have followed the step by step

i saw another doc which mentions abt the following -

1. activating the archiving infrastructure

2. specifying the logical and physical path etc

do i need to do these steps as well..or they are not mandatory
