Hi Experts,

i have gone through the SDN to understand the concept of ALE IDOC and EDI IDOC, and i got some idea about IDOC for the following Link http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ABAP/ALE,IDOC  

i just want to know the how the ALE IDOC and EDI IDOC are working in actual system?

what are the activities need to be done for enabling ALE IDOC if i got new customer?

Kindly give me an overview about IDOC?

are these all steps responsible by functional consultant?

this link are very helpful but as i am new to IDOC , i am not getting understand completely. i am expecting very simple explanation.

Shibu, normally I'd hit the 'Report abuse' button on such posts, but since at least you have done some reading, I just want to say that you are asking a very generic question and are asking to explain to you a rather complex concept in simple terms.

The document in your original post is actually not very good for the beginners, I think. And the link by VSA above is completely off subject (I seriously doubt you need to develop a custom IDoc).

If you'd like to receive more meaningfull response, please post more specific questions. E.g. what exactly are you trying to achieve? What exactly you're having toruble with? Also if you search on more specific criteria, you might find much more information already available on SDN or other sites.
