Location specific ATP, not Location Substitution

Experts,

We've Location substitution activated & know how it works. We are looking @ a feature in SCM 7.0 using which we should be able to have 2 separate type of behaviors in the system -

  • One - for certain plants we want Purchase Orders, STO's & In-transits to be considered as "available" for ATP/Pegging. These are primarily the Distribution Centers/Warehouses.
  • Two - for certain other plants, that are ancillary production plants, we want the Purchase Orders, STO's & in-transits not to be considered as "available" for ATP.

So, wanted to know if, with or without creating new Checking Rule/Instructions (those that exist carry config which says Purch Orders, STO's & In-transits are available receipts for pegging) is there a way to carry out ATP for specific Locations?

Your inputs would be v valuable.

Cheers

Hi Andy,

It looks straight forward to me....you can create 2 ATP group, lets say ZA ZB. ZA for warehouses or distribution centers and ZB for ancillary production plants. In Material master, you can assign ZA or ZB for plants the way you want to consider it.

in scope of check, you can define your receipt and demand elements. Let me know if you have any doubt. For one ZA, you can consider it and for ZB you can avoid it.

Hi Andy,

You can carry out the following steps to achieve you requirement.

For your first requirement -

  • One - for certain plants we want Purchase Orders, STO's & In-transits to be considered as "available" for ATP/Pegging. These are primarily the Distribution Centers/Warehouses.

1. In SPRO> Create a new business event e.g Z1 and in Maintain check control with your material master ATP gorup and with new business event Z1 only maintain the respective category you want to consider PO, STO & In-transits. Also maintain your existing check mode with new business event Z1.

2. In you integration rule- create a location determination activity and in field business event assign Z1 & assing your exsisting check mode.

For your second requirement-

  • Two - for certain other plants, that are ancillary production plants, we want the Purchase Orders, STO's & in-transits not to be considered as "available" for ATP.

Follow the same steps mentioned earlier with new business event Z2.

Note- Make sure when you are creating location chain, assign the correct location determination activity to the relevant location for which you wanted the location to carry out the PO, STO in aviablility check or not.
