Hi Friends,
I have configured "Addition to exisitng Stock" strategy for my storage type and activated "Capacity Check" as "4"
My bin capacity in this storage type is 55 Metric Tonne.
I have maintained capacity field in material master as 1
While I create Transfer order for 100 MT, system is throwing error as "Maximum capacity of the bin X exceeded by 45 MT.
I thought system would consequnetly propose the next bin which has sufficent capacity.
Kindly advise how to acheive this addition to existing stock for this business requirement, I am not sure what configuration is to be changed/ missing
Regards
E Shankar
hi...
according to system behavior...whenever there will be add to existing stock strategy failed...systems redirects to next empty bin..
In ur case.system is not moving to next empty bin..so check ur storage type control settings..into the system...
mainly...mixed storage and add to existing..
thanks

Hello Shankar,
This is standard SAP behavior, system will not split TO quantity in 2 bin or 2 storage type automatically unless palatalization date is maintained. System always try to find out suitable bin which can accommodate whole TO quantity. In "add to existing stock" if capacity available in filled bin can accommodate whole TO quantity then only system will suggest this bin else it will look for other bin. If you want to split TO then you have to do it manually.

Hi Kamal,
I could get some idea from your statement. So you mean to say if palletization data is maintained, this will work. As you said i maintained the palletization data and it worked fine. That is system automatically added stock to first bin and once capacity is reached it automatically proposed the next bin.
I was wondering if there would be any other combination of capacity check and addition to existing strategy which could fill this requirement without maintaing palletization data.
But anyway it is a helpful answer.
Thanks
Shankar
