SAPINST ERROR

Hi All

Simple , I am planning to do a system copy from Window 2003 32 bit Oracle

9I to Window 2008 R2 64 Bit for R/3 4.7 Enterprise Ext 2.00 .

I have copied the installation master DVD and replace the sapinst with

sapinst 640 erp04_prc on the database instance ( its a distributed system

) , when I run the sapinst ,I encounter the error as per attachment .

Please advice.Thanks

Hi Clement,

For starters Windows 2008 R2 is not supported for 4.7 release. Downgrade your OS to Windows 2003.

It is supported (SAP Note 1480906 explains) , if I run the sapinst I am getting the following error for the second screen .

ERROR 2012-06-08 16:58:35

CJS-00081  Assertion failed: in function InstallationScript_15() {    var installer = new Installer();    var kdb = new KeyDB();    var context = new Context();    var gui = new Gui();

Hi Clement,

As per PAM new installation ain't supported. But obviously this note has a workaround though it harps too much on NW04 system which 4.7 isn't. Just for dummy trial see if other product types are also giving this error. By other product types I mean NW04,ERp 2004 etc. If they are not then the issue is with 4.7 ! However if they are giving error then may be you haven't applied the SAPinst patch properly or it is an issue with the patch .Of course at this stage it is an hypothesis but the error looks like SAPinst. Also please post sapinst.log (not the dev log which you already have done).
