How to revert back the old RP data setting for the site after an event

Hi,

During promotion, User change the RP setting from RP to RF for most of the item put up for promotion.

After the promotion, User revert back the RP setting.

This is quite tedious considering out company has over 20 sites under promotion at the same time and these data are maintain at site level.

It varies according to the store size and buying pattern of the site customer profile.

Is there a way to backup and at the end of the promotion, revert back?

Thanks

bye

Hi Colin,

I assume you would have the list of items that are in promotion before hand(or you can take take the dump from table WAKP for any given promotions)

Then you can go to Tcode MASS and choose the Object Type BUS1001001.Then you go to Table and choose MARTSTATUS and choose MARC and then you can choose the field MARC-DISMM(RP Type) from the list of fields.By doing so you can change the RP type from RP to RF or vice versa at one go for a particular range of articles and Site number combination.

Hope it helps.

Hi,

It may be true if I am changing only the field, RP type.

However, in most instance, fields like re-order point, Target Qty, historical forecast period and even forecast model need to be changed.

some of these information reside not just in table MARC but also in MPOP and WRPT, not too sure if MASS can do it,

MM46 certainly cannot satisfy all.

Has anyone does something of a backup and restore on RP data?

Hi Colin,

Well..you were specific in asking to change the RP type and hence the solution was proposed as MASS.

After your reply ,it seems there are plenty of fields other than RP type alonw, and it appears you need to write LSMW to load any changes after you are done with your promotions to revert back the changes.I reckon you can Create a unique template with all the list of probable fields regarding replenishment which may be changed and reverted back and perform LSMW accordingly.

Hope it helps

Hi,

Not a bad idea.

However, it pretty manual in the case whereby User had to remember to re-upload after promotion event.

In fact, I am looking at automatically restoring it after the promotion by running a scheduled job to track by system date and event ID.

Not too sure if it could work this way.

Hi Colin,

1.If you are NOT running HUGE number of promotions, you can certainly consider the LSMW upload may be weekly/fortnightly/monthly accordingly.

2.If you are running HUGE promotions then you need to have this exercise almost on a daily basis,in which case you need to schedule the job which kind of compares the promotion number expiry date with the system date and updates/reverts the RP type and other relevant fields. However in this case,a very important thing to be noted is,you need to make sure there are no OVERLAPPING Promotions running(which are very common in  retail industries) for eg one single article may attract different prices based on the overlapping promotions based on Quantity or may be based on a mIxmatch theory.

So you need to be really careful before reverting RP type etc since you may have this article listed in more than one promotion based on how promotions are setup.

Option 1 : Manually controlled and hence can be done as and when required based on the volume, because off-seasons you may not have many promotions.

Option 2: One time solution which involves some code change etc ,however considering the overlapping promotions scenarios may not be viable then.

Hope it helps.

Aram.
