We are upgrading ECC to EP 6, is it required to be at version 7.1 OS level on the iSeries?
Hello Craig,
As per PAM, EHP6 is supported at DB2/400 V7R1. You can also refer service.sap.com/pam for all related information about supported OS, Database, Kernals etc.
Hope it helps.

Sachin

Hello Craig,
we are currently dealing with the same question. Here ist our understanding:
1. If you are planning to run EHP6 in an environment NW 7.31 and the 7.20_EXT-Kernel, you are required to use V7R1.
2. If you are using NW7.30 then it should be possible to use the 7.20 Kernel which requires V6R1 only.
The main difference about the kernel by the way is a new MAKE of the kernel. from the code-base and the functional set, both kernels 7.20 and 7.20_EXT are the same (which explains, that for Linux-envirnonments the use of the standard-Kernel is accepted by SAP for a limited period of time). From a certain point in time SAP is processing all quality-checks for newer products only on the newer EXT-kernels.
Kind regards
Werner Schwarz
Hi Craig,
yes, for sure ...
All products, that were released a few days/weeks ago do require 7.1 and the 7.20 EXT kernel as they are based on NW 7.3 EHP1 (7.31). This stuff can only run on 7.1 OS /400 ...
