Is Sender IDoc Channel required in PI 7.3 Single Stack

Is it required to create sender IDoc communication channel in PI 7.3 single stack ?

yes,it is required to create Sender IDOC_AAE channel in PI 7.3.

Though I did not work on this particular scenario, I believe you need this. Because your sender system is abap stack and the PI has only java stack.
