archive log getting filled up

Dear All,

We have 100 GB of memory allocated for Archive logs. These logs are not of the Integration Engine . No archiving or deletion jobs have been set up.

We have scenario Idoc to JDBC . We noticed that whenever we send a huge volume of Idoc to jdbc adapter the archive log gets filled rapidly and sometimes causes PI system to hang and users are not able to send any more IDocs from SAP to SQL .

Do we need to schedule any jobs to preven the rapid filling of this directory /db2/PXI/log_archive ?

Please advice.

Thanks,

Teresa

You might want to keep the archive logs for less time duration like last 5 days and remaining log information can be moved out of PI and archive it in some disk for record purpose.  We have schedule job to maintain logs only for 5 business days (as per client requirement) and rest we delete it. This is one possible approach.

Thank you Baskar and Raja . Here the BASIS team are not sure what scripts to run . I was trying to help the BASIS team to solve this.

Scripts are to delete the log files based on the date and keep only the latest log files. If you want older log files then move it to the other boxed out of pi to provide enough disk space for the PI server. Hope that helps.

There are standard scripts (Basis point view) to remove log entries. When you deal with high load scenarios

1)Set 1 day arching deletion mechanism.

2)If option 1 is not feasible then increase the disk space and create some SWAP memory.

Your Basis team has to run Scripts periodically to removed log files from server,This is pure basis activity and already predefined scripts available.

I hope your basis team has configured archicing and deletion mechanism accordingly to support hig load.

Contact your basis they will give all deatils lilke how much table space available.
