Hi
In our system, we have SAPHOSTAGENT installed. But the SAPHOSTAGENT is not getting started automatically.
If we start it manually by using the command saphostexec -restart, it is giving the following error.
[ERROR] Profile permission violation. (usr/sap/hostctrl/exe/host_profile)
Can anyone please help me with starting SAPHOSTAGENT.
We are on IBM iSeries and DB2.
Awaiting your inputs.
Regards,
Ram.
Yes. I am with Srikishan. Host agent should be started/stopped with root. Please check permissions of /usr/sap/hostctrl/exe/host_profile as well.
Thanks,
Siva Kumar

Hi,
The SAP Host agent starting/stopping commands are mentioned here. The executable can be run by root user only (as root is the owner after installation by default). Try running the commands with root access.
