Since SAPlpd is replaced by SAPSprint for server printing and SAPFprint for frontend printing, has SAP announced an end of life or end of support date for SAPlpd? Will SAPlpd still be delivered with SAP GUI for Windows 7.30?
(cross-posted in Output Management)
Hello David,
SAPlpd is out of support. SAP mentioned that in note 42268 and note 16420. SInce it is not supported,
so SAP will not deliver it with GUI 7.30.
Best regards,
Yuki

Hi Yuki,
Thanks for your response. It wasn't clear from the Notes I found when SAPlpd would no longer be delivered (e.g., Note 821519 says "it is still delivered to provide for older systems").
I have the impression that SAPlpd might continue to be delivered, but we use it at our own risk. If we encounter any problem, we'll be advised to switch to SAPFprint.
Thanks again,
Dave
Hi Dave,
Sorry for the confusion.
As mentioned in the note, if your system fulfills the prerequisites for using sapsprint, you will have to use sapsprint, if not, you can continue using saplpd the latest patch (6.29?) but SAP will no longer provide newer patch. In case any problem in saplpd 6.29, you will be advised to upgrade your systme to meet
the prerequisites so that you could use sapsprint as no more development for saplpd.
Best regards,
Yuki
