Hi Everyone,
I am using HANA studio to backup my databases. Yesterday i got the following error message in the HANA studio.
"general error: Backup error: The state 'ManagerSaveJobRunning' of the BackupManager does not allow the requested operation"
I tried the same from the hdbsql command line. Result is the same .
How do I clear up the error so that i can do a fresh backup again
Thanks in advance .
Murali
HI Murali,
It seems that alread backup is running. you need to kill the backup thread and reschedule the backup.

Maybe an unfinished backup is blocking your backup requests. Try killing the BackupManager thread in Hana Studio -- Performance -- Threads or just do a restart.

I had the same problem. There was no further information in de logfiles, not even a warning or error.
For me a stop/start of the database did the trick. Everything went fine after that.

Hi
You need to check logs from HANA studio, for actual cause of the previous backup failure.
In my case the backup directory was full.
I checked the alerts and marked them as 'handled" and I was able to restart the backup..
