Hi,
We have a scenario in which 2 ECC systems are connected to 1 APO system.
There are certain data like UOM & Factory calendars which goes to APO through only one of the ECC systems called as leading ECC system.
How system determines that which of the 2 ECC systems is the leading ECC system?
regards,
Mohit
Hi Mohit,
For global data like UOM, factory calendars, fiscal calendars and currencies, the transfer is either manually through RSA1 by picking on the desired ECC source system or through program RSIMPCUST in which you select a source system. So there is no leading ECC system. It's up to you.
You should make sure that the global data is the same in both ECC systems just-in-case so as to avoid any problems.
For other master data, the leading system is defined by the business system group.
Best Regards,
Mike

Hi Mohit,
Please read the IMG help in your APO system for Maintain Business System Group and Assign Logical System and Queue Type.
Here is a link to some older information but it is still valid:

Mohit,
All systems would have unique technical names. ex:
ECC1 = P01
APO = PA1
HR = PH1
BW = PW1
Similarly the extra ECC2 would also have a unique name, say ECC2 = P02
(that's the way we have it almost everywhere, the two different ECC system cannot have one single technical name)
Now when you connect them via IModel, one need to specify the Source System/Target System technical names. So I don't see any confusion, as the APO system would not have to decide, it has to be pre-decided & hard-coded into the IModel varaint.
Hope this helps
Kumar
