MRP Controller (ECC) Vs Planner (APO)

Hi,

In APO Product Master, we have 5 different planners namely Production planner, SNP Planner, Demand Planner, Transportation Planner, SNC Planner.

I need following inputs:

1   MRP Controller of ECC is mapped to which of the planners in APO?

2   How to update MRP Controller to the planner (as this does not happen normally through CIF)

regards,

Mohit

Hi Mohit,

MRP controller is CIFed against the Production Planner field in APO.

If you want to do this , you have to use the Exit EXIT_/SAPAPO/SAPLCIF_PROD_001 in APO.     NOTE : - Before this please cif products to APO.

Hope this helps.

We need to create Planners in APO; typical way is to create in development system and transport to production system. For roles, most of the time MRP Controller in ECC is Production Planner in APO and other roles are defined by business as per business needs.

Mohit, the planners in ECC are plant specific. You can have planner 001 in all plants.

In APO the various planners are system specific, you can only have one planner 001 in the entire system and that planner can be assigned to the various planner functions.

For that reason there is no standard interface of planners from ECC to APO through the cif.

We have a naming convention using a letter prefix to repesent the plant. That way we maintain planners in ECC so that each is unique, A01, A02... etc. Then if you create the corresponding planner in APO you can make them consistent. It's for organisational convenience only as maintaining the planner 'link' has no function in the two systems.

You would require CIF user exit to map MRP controller to any of the planners.
