CCM vs MDM (is CCM available in SRM7 PPS?)

Hi experts,

I have read somewhere that CCM could be still used for simple catalog management processes, so I would like to know whether it is possible or not to use CCM under SRM 7 PPS. If so, is it still formally supported by SAP?

Otherwise, I assume that I should go with MDM, thus there should be new systems to be deployed and some kind of licenses to be acquired, right? In this case, I would try to build a simple custom catalog system (cause I would say that implementing MDM is overkill in my simple business scenario)

Hi Vicente,

CCM 2.0 can be used with SRM 7.0. But it is supported only as a separate application, and only if CCM is installed on a separate application server with NW640/700. Please see also the SAP note 1311274 SAP CCM 2.0 with SRM 7.0.

SRM-MDM Catalog provides you more possibilities, and is beeing enhanced continously, as a "living" product. I would rather install this. You will need SRM-MDM licence to download the components.

There is no problem of using CCM as far as SRM PPS is concerned.
