Hello,

In Solution Manager 7.1 how do I configure EarlyWatch Alert reports so they are sent to a specific email address?

I remember stumbling across this feature somewhere but can’t seem to find it again.

Hello Olivier,

Goto SPRO tcode a search for 'Sending Service Reports by Internet E-Mail'. You should also have mail configured using SCOT tcode:

http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/SI/SAPConnect+Administration+(SCOT)+change+log

Best regards,

Hi,

Theres no more information in SPRO.

SCOT etc is configured and working - I configured several systems to send some weeks ago and I still get the reports of these via email.

As far as I remmber the option was somewhere in SOLMAN_WORKCENTER or possibly SOLMAN_SETUP.

Hi Oliver,

Try this:

Run Tcode SOLMAN_WORCENTER

Navigate to System Monitoring > Setup

go to System Monitoring > Configure Automatic Reports Mailing

In a new pop-up screen press ‘Create E-Mail Recepient’ tab to create a new one , or 'Edit' / 'Delete' to adjust the existing e-mail recipients

Cheers,

MM

Hi MM,

That allows me to specify an email address, but not which reports get mailed. For a while I thought Solution Manager would just send every EWA generated to the email address specified there but it doesn't.

Regards,

Oliver.

Hi Oliver

You will have to maintain the mail address per Solution. If you do that then you will receive all the generated EWA reports on one mail address giving your mail configuration is setup correctly of course.

Kind regards

Hallo,

I agree with Tom that you maintain the email by solution as described earlier.

Apart from that you obviously have to make sure that the email address is actually added to the solution for which the EWAs are generated.

This can be configured in:

  • Workcenter: System Monitoring
  • Setup
  • Early Watch Alert Conifguration
  • Configuration for all solutions

Apart from that it might be worth checking transaction SDCCN on the source system to see if the EWA is actually being generated.

Thomas.

Hi Oliver,

the email recipients can be maintained in transaction solman_setup -> EarlyWatch Alert Management -> step "Maintain Recipients".

Use the "edit" button and then press "add" and select a user from the Notification Management, which has an email address maintained. After that select solution and system for which the EWA report should be sent.

Best regards, Susanne

How To Add a user for a single EWA Report

Tcode sm30

Maintain Table DSWP_SYS_EMAIL

You will receive a warning that the table is cross client. This can be accepted

You will receive a list of existing entries. To add a new recipient, choose ‘New Entries’ button

Choose Object ID to be reported on via relevant option

Repeat for required SAP System

Email address has to be entered manually

Save the fields you have added

On the next screen, you will be prompted to add the change to a transport, if one exists. If not, you will need to create a transport to add the change to

Confirm add to transport. Once back at the front screen, your new entry will now show on the list of mapped email addresses

How To

Add a Mail Recipient to EWA Reports

T-code dswp or solution_manager (both take you to the same place)

Select Your Solution

Ensure Operations – Solution Monitoring – EarlyWatch Alert are selected

Edit – Automatic Email Transmission

Create E-Mail Recipient

Each recipient needs to be added three times, for ‘SAP EarlyWatch Alert’, ‘SAP EarlyWatch Alert for Solutions’ and for ‘Service Level Report’. Each needs to be done individually. Of course, you can go the other way and just choose the report you want them to receive

SAP EarlyWatch Alert will offer an option for the ‘Report Type’ field. Add the users email address and tick to confirm. User will then receive the relevant report from that point forwards

Hi Oliver,

You are of course correct about DSWP. I copied and pasted a working document and forgot to delete the reference to DSWP. I believe TCode solution_manager is still valid in 7.1, though?

Hi Ian,

As far as I know they were the same transaction. Both no longer exist in Solution Manager 7.1. It's all in SOLMAN_WORKCENTER now and conpletely different.
