Hi All,
I have recently updated SAP Kernel to 720 ABAP+JAVA from 701 but in system information it is showing old version.
disp+work shows 720 but under disptacher and server0 it shows old version.
Kindly let me know if you any idea about this issue ?
I have followed as per the pre requisites in the note 1636252 before Kernel upgrade.
Thank you in advance.
Thanks & regards,
Prabhakar Reddy.Y.C.
Hello Prabhakar,
Maybe you did not replace the new kernel with the old one in the correct exe dir.
You can find you exe directory by executing cdexe in unix or check the profile parameter DIR_CT_RUN and DIR_EXECUTABLE. You can check the values of these parameters in rz11.
Replace the kernel here and it should work.

Sonia

Hi Prabhakar,
The kernel version displayed in the source information is not the actual kernal version displayed in disp+work. The version mentioned here is your source system rel. For example if my system is Netweaver 7.3 ( with kernel 720_rel), the system info will show 7.3 rather than 7.20.
I understand your system rel is still 7.01, hence the kernel version as 7.01.
Hope it clears your doubt.

Sonia
Hi Prabhakar,
Regarding your issue, please find the required information specified
below.
Can you please check if any old copy of Kernelis stored in the system,
i.e old disp+work.exe, etc. If so, please remove all old versions from
the system.
Can you please try to download and apply the latest disp+work package
in the Kernel directories as per the note 19466.
After that reboot the system.
If the issue still persists, please try the steps specified below.
1. Take a backup of the kernel and delete the files from the
server.
2. Search for any other old copy stored in the system. Remove all
old versions from the system.
3. Remove the SAPEXE.SAR and SAPEXEDB.SAR files from the system.
4. Extract the latest kernel files into both Kernel directories
/usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run & /usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGS00/exe
5. Restart the OS and check.
Thank You.
Regards,
Deepika
