Dear gurus
how we will identify either backward or forward scheduling takes place in sales order ?
thank you so much
Hello Venu,
You can check if the system has carried out backward scheduling or forward scheduling in sales order.
As told by experts earlier, its done by Availability check.
Just go to the schedule lines in the sales order.
Check whether the delivery date and confirmed quantity date in item data for schedule lines.
If the confirmed quantity date is same with the delivery date, then the system has carried out backward scheduling
If the confirmed quantity date is ahead to the delivery date then system has carried out forward scheduling.
Hope this helps
Thanks and regards
Amit

Hello,
A very simple mathod of knowing whether Backward or Forward Schedulling has taken place in your Sales Order:
1. If the Schedule Lines Delivery date is same as your Requested Delivery Date, then if is Backward Schedulling.
2. If the Schedule LInes Delivery Date is in future (as compared to Requested Delivery date) then it is forward Schedulling.
Thanks,

Hi venu,
The Backward or Forward scheduling is identified by Availability check. When ever we have to maintain the availability check for materials(finished goods)by that time we have to raise sales order for that materials.so if there is available that materials for sufficiant for that sales order ok fine this carried out by forward scheduling i mean if that material availability date is flase between the purchase order date and delivery date ok fine. But some situations this is not possible why because that materials not available by that time the system assume other delivery date based on availability check.
Material availability =forward and not availability =back ward depends on Availability check
Thanks,
Naren

If system confirms requested delivery date than its a backward schedulin.
If system propose new delivery date than its a forward scheduling.
