SAPR3 : CCMS : Configuration for Email alerts for failed Background jobs

Hi.

I would like to have email alerts received for background jobs failed on SAP R/3 system.

Can anyone advise on the steps for this purpose.

Because am not familiar with this.

hi thx.

i have already seen this link.

But am not seeing this as stated in the whole list :

Select the method CCMS_OnAlert_Email and choose Edit Data.

Not sure why this is not seen to choose and edit.

Thats why thought would check for expert suggestions.

ECC 6.00

I had a look at this sap note : SAP NOTE 176492.

Am not sure. Since i dont see the option in RZ21.

May be it is not there and needs to be set up.

On the sap note somewhere it talks about SAPCONNECT.

When i searched - i did not find this either.

I checked in SICF SAPCONNECT service is available and smtp is active.

But it looks like nothing is configured for this SMTP.

So basically i wish to understand -

what all need to be set up for this email alert for failed background job.

things to do - stepwise - pointwise

If anyone could help in understanding this.
