WebI multilingual reports:

Hi all,

We have a requirement for working with multilingual webi reports. Some of the reports are built on top of SAP BW bex queries directly using the BICS connection where as some are built from universes on Bex queries.

Could you please suggest the best way to go about building these kind of reports? There seem to be multiple options for the same.

I came across a paragraph in the universe design tool which states that for each language, you would need a separate connection in that language. If that is the case, how should the universe be named?

How will the report know which universe to pick up?

Could someone help me please?

Hello Vinayak,

Since your requirement is to use multilingual reports, below are my ideas

1. Create a universe

2. Create connections for different lanuages(since few of them might need unicode strings too)

3. Go to Manage Access restrictions and apply connections restrcitions for the group of users who should data related to there language
